I’d like to think if you know the Somethings, you knew this was coming eventually. We mentioned it a month or two ago, because the minute Hatton saw this movie.. he knew one thing.. he needed to make Rob see it.

Why? Well, have you seen it? If you haven’t – stop reading – go watch it – then come back. Now you know why, and I’m sorry I made you do that.  M. Night returns to the world of film with a movie that is less twist and more twit.  So hop on in our mid-size-sedan and find out what happens on this Something In Review: Old Edition

Ok, here we…  what is it we do… oh, that’s right.. Go!

Three people went off into the Burkettsville woods, and weren’t heard from again… this isn’t their story.
A bunch of other people went off into the woods to take a tour about the people that were never heard from again, which does kind of infer they were heard from again, albeit unintentionally, and now there are tour groups for them and they are apparently cult icons to weiros and documentarians…. this is sort of their story….

Two podcasters decided to sit down and watch Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows and tell you what they thought – this is most certainly their story.

So settle in and throw your map into the river – it’s Something in Review: Blair Witch 2

Ok, here we g-g-g-g-hoooost!

We’re nearing SomethingSpookums season, so wasn’t Hatton surprised when Rob suggested one of the Summer’s sleeper horror hits Black Phone.

A young man is kidnapped by the local kidnapper, natch, and through a series of mysterious moments… maybe he finds his way home?

Was it good? Was it great? Was it overhyped or just right? It’s time for Something in Review: Black Phone

[SOMETHING IN REVIEW] Constantine

Since the world is currently learning what artsy nerds have known for 20 years, that The Sandman is amazing, the Somethings had the brilliant (and coincidental) idea to do a movie that ties in ever so slightly to the Sandman mythos… the story of a man who can see the evil forces that move between worlds and fight them for the benefit of his own soul.

He also knows kung-fu… whoa…

This month, we are looking at the Keanu version of Hellblazer in – Constantine. Does it hold up? Did it ever? Did you even remember it existed?

Find out these answers and more, on Something In Review: Constantine

[SOMETHING IN REVIEW] Fast & the Furious Ranked!

With 9 movies on the books, the Fast & the Furious Franchise, fun to say five times fast, seemed like the perfect spot for us to flex our Year 9 Anniversary muscles and go back behind the wheel to breakdown all of the hard turns the series have made.  How much is a drag? How much does the series drift off course? These are car puns.

Have you tire’d of these yet? Fine. I get it.

So – join the Somethings as they take nine movies and put them into a ranking… what sits atop the mountain? Only one way to find out – on Something in Review: Fast Ranked!

A minor note – we mention a couple of graphics Rob and I did years ago, when discussing Fast 7, the Seven Deadly Cars… here’s some examples:

Ok, here we go… but for family.

What happens when you give Michael Bay a ton of money, a Dutch movie about a hostage situation, and tell him to go to town?

You get this hodgepodge of big action, big explosions, big cameras, and a plot that drives by at the speed of a man who just robbed a bank.

Does it work? Is Michael Bay finding his footings as an artist? There’s only one way to know on Something In Review: Ambulance!

[SOMETHING IN REVIEW] Free Guy

Imagine you wake up, have your coffee, go to work, go home, and the cycle repeats.  Every day. No variation. Nothing other than the same drudgery you’ve come to know for as long as you can remember.

And now that you are crying, why not listen to the Somethings talk about the new Ryan Reynolds tale, Free Guy (not, as Hatton may have you believe, Fall Guy). Is the movie funny? Too nerdy and inside baseball? Too simplistic and generalized for a broad audience? And what about Michael Myers?

Find out the answers to these and a whole lot more as you settle in to another 8 hour slogfest at the paper pushing cubical you call a life, on Something In Review: Free Guy

Ok here we take an arrow to the knee…

[SOMETHING IN REVIEW] Texas Chainsaw Massacre

There is a movement in horror to bring back the classics. We went through the remake era with the 2000’s versions of Friday and Nightmare, but Saw and, most popularly, Halloween, has show us that there are stories to tell a few decades later in the same universe.

Now Netflix is getting in on the action with a late-quel? (is that a word?) of the horror classic, Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Does it have the same legs that Laurie Strode and Michael Myers had? I ask, because that’s clearly what they were asking in the scriptwriting room…

So settle in to a dusty little empty street in Texas where nobody notices anything and real estate is cheap – it’s time for Something In Review: Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Ok here we g.g.g.g.g.ggggooooOOOooo.. (that was a chainsaw noise)
