{"id":4491,"date":"2024-06-28T05:57:48","date_gmt":"2024-06-28T10:57:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.somethingcast.com\/?p=4491"},"modified":"2024-06-28T05:57:48","modified_gmt":"2024-06-28T10:57:48","slug":"blog-pcr-talks-madam-web","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.somethingcast.com\/?p=4491","title":{"rendered":"[BLOG] PCR talks &#8220;Madam Web&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hey Somethings, PCR here!<\/p>\n<p>So&#8230; I recently watched &#8216;Madam Web&#8217; and&#8230; wow do I have thoughts&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>For starters, I knew nothing about this character going in.\u00a0 While she first appeared in 1980 in the comics, I didn&#8217;t start collecting until later, and when I was into the hobby the deepest, Spider-Man wasn&#8217;t much of my weekly pull&#8230;\u00a0 so I won&#8217;t be talking about things like story arcs or how close they came to the comic portrayal.. this is strictly on the merits of the movie.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is not good.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t have anything against Dakota Johnson (though, looking through her filmography, I can&#8217;t say I&#8217;ve seen any of her movies.. but I&#8217;m aware of who she is and what she&#8217;s done), and.. I&#8217;m not sure her acting was really the issue here.\u00a0 The story overall seemed&#8230;\u00a0 Meh, the effects of <i>Las Ara\u00f1as\u00a0<\/i>doing their spider-walk stuff felt right out of the Batman TV show of the &#8217;60s, I couldn&#8217;t get over the fact that the main villain looked like TEMU Matt Hardy from his &#8220;Delete!
